Meet the mum and daughter behind new dog-friendly bistro
A new dog-friendly bar and bistro has opened in West Kirby.
Monty’s in the Old Bank building on Banks Road is the brainchild of Danielle Roberts and her daughter Liberty, who live locally. Read more.
Hoylake RNLI crew attend Royal Garden Party
Volunteer crew from Hoylake lifeboat were among the guests at a garden party hosted by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.
The event was held to mark the 200th anniversary of the RNLI, with seven staff from Hoylake invited to enjoy tea in the Buckingham Palace gardens. Read more.
Artists throw open their doors this weekend
Almost 40 artists and makers are throwing open the doors to their homes and studios in West Kirby, Hoylake and Meols this weekend.
Wirral Open Studio Tour is now in its 14th year of celebrating visual arts, and will see artists and makers exhibiting in dozens of venues across the peninsula. Read more.
Could you help with the Newton Girlguiding Big Help Out?
Girlguiding in Newton are looking for people to assist with their Big Help Out on Sunday 9 June.
It takes place from 1pm - 5pm at their HQ on Grange Cross Lane and will include doing odd jobs around the hall and grounds.
Things to do - what’s on!
Wirral Symphonic Wind Band are playing in the upper park at Ashton Park on Sunday 9 June from 2-4pm as part of the Friends of Ashton Park’s ‘Bands in the Park’ series. Entry is free, donations are welcome, and the tea shop will be open for refreshments.
West Kirby Library is hosting a summer serenade on Wednesday 19 June at 2.30pm (see above). Tea, coffee, scones and cakes will be served,and there will be music too. Tickets are available from the library.
West Kirby Farmers’ Market takes place on Saturday 22 June from 9am - 12 midday at St Andrew’s Church Hall.
