Residents traffic fears over school redevelopment plan
West Kirby Grammar School has submitted plans for a new sixth form block and community sports hall.
However, there is frustration from some local residents that they were not told about the scheme, amid concerns over what it could mean in relation to additional traffic. Read more.
RNLI called out to Middle Eye to stranded pair
West Kirby RNLI was called out to two people stranded on Middle Eye.
The volunteer crew was dispatched by the coastguard following a call from RNLI lifeguards. Read more.
Cub and Calf now open as Family Hub
Cub and Calf in West Kirby has become Wirral’s latest Family Hub.
Families with 0 - 19 year old's (or 25 for SEND children) can now easily access a wide range of support including parenting, social care, education, mental health and physical health. Read more.
Things to do - what’s on!
Hoylake and West Kirby RNLI are holding a ‘meet and greet’ day on Saturday 13 July from 10am - 4pm, at Hoylake Lifeboat station on North Parade (see poster above).
Royden Hall Summer Fair takes place on Saturday 13 July from 1 - 4pm. There will be craft and gift stalls, bouncy castle face painting and much more, with the funds raised going towards the hall. Admission is £1 for adults and free for children.
Hoylake allotments open day takes place on Sunday 14 July from 12pm - 4pm, including stalls, live entertainment, refreshments and a chance to follow the sunflower trail.
West Kirby Farmers’ Market takes place at St Andrew’s Church on Saturday 27 July from 9am - 12 midday.
Hoylake Artisan Market is happening on Saturday 27 July in the car park of The Ship Inn, from 11am - 4pm.
