Speeding drivers face kids court
Pupils from Black Horse Hill junior school in West Kirby have been grilling speeding drivers.
The school joined forces with Merseyside Road Safety Partnership and Merseyside Police to stop motorists who were exceeding the limit on Saughall Massie Road. Read more.
New lease of life for historic cottage
Plans have been submitted to breathe new life into an historic listed cottage in West Kirby.
Sea View on Darmonds Green was built in 1840 but is in a poor state of repair having not been updated for decades, and lying empty for the last three years. Read more.
Students visit care home to read to residents
Pupils at West Kirby School and College have been participating in a ‘Reading in the Community’ project.
It involves them visiting The Old Garden care home in Hoylake, where they connect with elderly residents through reading and conversation. Read more.
Newton Village Hall AGM
The Annual General Meeting for Newton Village Hall takes place on Tuesday 18 February at 7.30pm.
It is being held in the meeting room at the rear of the hall, with access via the side gate on Grange Cross Lane. All residents are welcome to attend. For more information about the hall visit https://villagehallnewton.co.uk/.

Things to do - what’s on!
Robert Rundle and the Knowones are playing an evening of folk and rock music at West Kirby Arts Centre on Saturday 22 February at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 at https://ticketlab.app/event/29961#/ or £12 on the door.
West Kirby Farmers’ Market takes place on Saturday 22 February from 9am - 12 midday at St Andrew’s Church Hall and car park.
Hoylake Artisan Market returns to the car park of the Ship Inn on Market Street on Saturday 8 March from 11am - 4pm.
The LAKE gallery on Grange Road in West Kirby is displaying a new collection of works by Liverpool printmaker Lindsey Moran and Wirral-based figurative artist Peter Macaulay. In ‘Figures and Spaces’, they explore human figures and the spaces they inhabit. The exhibition runs until Saturday 1 March and the gallery is open Thursday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm.
