Call for withdrawal of expanded conservation area due to ‘consultation flaw’
Residents in a newly extended conservation area around West Kirby have set up a petition calling for the withdrawal of its recent expansion, claiming the consultation was flawed as they were not consulted.
An appraisal over the new management plan for the area around Meols Drive took place last year - the first since it was introduced more than 20 years ago, but some locals say they weren’t notified. Read more.
St Bridget’s blooms for its bicentenary
St Bridget’s Church of England Primary School in West Kirby is marking its 200th anniversary with a series of special events, and is appealing for former pupils to help them with creating a school history exhibition.
The school, originally known as West Kirby National School, opened in 1825 in a room adjoining St Bridget's church tower. Read more.
Ukulele performance at supported living accommodation
People living at Coronation Lodge in West Kirby were treated to an evening of music and entertainment.
Ukulele duo ToucanUke took to the owners’ lounge to perform a lively selection of songs spanning from the 1960s to the present day. Read more.
