Aldi to close for makeover
Aldi in West Kirby is closing for refurbishment.
It will shut at 4pm on Sunday 29 June and reopen at 8am on Friday 4 July. Read more.
Local artist wins sculpture prize
West Kirby artist Ben Stephenson has been unveiled as the winner of the Liverpool Sculpture Prize.
His work, Laminae, is a cylindrical sculpture formed from layers of rammed earth and is on display at Liverpool Parish Church. Read more.
Theatre company to perform at allotments
A touring theatre company renowned for its quirky and accessible approach is to perform its latest production at Gilroy Road Community Allotments in West Kirby.
Operation Beach Hut promises toe-tapping tunes and nostalgic charm and will be performed on Friday 4 July from 7 – 9pm. Read more.
Things to do - what’s on!
St Bridget’s Church of England Primary School is holding its summer fair on Saturday 28 June from 1-4pm on Rectory Fields. There will also be a special exhibition marking its bicentenary in the school hall (see poster above).
West Kirby Sailing Club regatta and summer fair is happening on Saturday 28 June from 2pm - 5pm, including a barbecue, crafts, jewellery and much more.
West Kirby Farmers’ Market takes place on Saturday 28 June at St Andrew’s Church Hall and car park on Graham Road in West Kirby, from 9am - 12 midday. Visit https://westkirbyfarmersmarket.co.uk for more information.
Leyland Band are performing a concert in aid of the RNLI in Hoylake on Saturday 12 July at St Hildeburgh’s Church. It starts at 7:30pm. Tickets can be purchased at https://fienta.com/rnli.
